Emperor’s Challenge is identical to the casino game Pai Gow Poker with two additional optional proposition wagers. The first optional proposition bet is known as “Pai Gow Insurance” which is available to each player and the Player–Banker to make before play begins. This proposition bet is independent of the primary Pai Gow Poker bet and the Emperor’s Treasure bonus proposition bet. A player can win on one and lose on the other. The player wins their proposition bet if they have achieved a pre-defined hand ranking according to a posted pay table. This proposition bet is always banked by the casino and paid or collected by the dealer.

The second optional proposition bet is known as “Emperor’s Treasure” which is available to each player and the Player-Banker to make before play begins. This proposition bonus bet is also independent of the primary poker bet. The player wins their proposition bet if they have achieved a pre-defined hand ranking according to a posted Pai-Gow Poker bonus pay table.

RULES:

  1. Each player must make a Pai Gow Poker wager and optionally may make an Emperor’s Treasure wager and/or Pai Gow Insurance wager. Note: The Emperor’s Treasure wager and/or Pai Gow Insurance wager may be larger than the Pai Gow Poker wager within the table limits designated by the “house”.

  2. If a player makes an Emperor’s Treasure wager of at least five dollars the Player qualifies for the “Envy Bonus”.

  3. The players each receive seven cards which they must separate into a low two card hand and a high five card hand.
